The computer network has more advantages when compared to stand-alone computer. Gains from computer networks, namely:

1. Higher-speed access for the provision of network facilities and management is done exclusively by one computer (server) that is not burdened with other tasks as a workstation.
2. Security systems and network administration is better, because there is a user who served as a network administrator, who manages administration and network security systems.
3. Data backup system is better, because the client-server network backup is done centrally on the server, which will backup all data used in the network.
4. More efficient resource management.
5. Retain the information in order to remain a reliable and up-to-date.
6. Helping businesses to serve their clients more effectively
7. Help speed up the process of sharing data (data sharing).
8. Allows the working group to communicate more efficiently.

Weakness

1. The operational costs are relatively more expensive.
2. There needs to be a special computer which enabled more to be assigned as a server.
3. Continuity of the network is very dependent on the server. If the server is impaired then the whole network will be disrupted.
4. Application viruses and hacking methods.
5. Sharing unwanted files. "With the good comes the bad".
6. Hardware management and system administration.
